Civilian control of the military isn’t optional, it’s the foundation of the Republic. Trump won the election. Sounds logical but it won't work in practice. Higher paid people can choose how to accept compensation & they increasingly chose stock options to defer taxes while increasing "earnings" over time. Getting rid of the payroll cap will encourage more of this behavior. There is another way to fund SS without increasing the debt, with sovereign money.
