This does not make any sense. How can players be fined for failing to perform? Is there any clause in their contracts with PCB that allows financial penalties on the basis of performance? I don't think there is any. At most, the PCB can only drop underperforming players in future squads. Failure to deliver with the bat or ball is not a disciplinary breach, it is part of competitive sport. And on what grounds, fines will be be justified for someone like Sahibzada Farhan, who finished as the tournament’s top scorer? Or for Usman Tariq? And what about those players who played one game and spent most of the tournament on the bench?
