Can we just clear this up. This idea Trump is locked into NATO by statute and Congresss is utter rubbish. If he wants to withdraw every US soldier, and close every US base in Europe tomorrow, he can do it. He doesn't need anyone's approval.

Been saying this for a while. Those people on the British right cheering on Trump have been riding around on the back of a tiger. The political reality is if the United States walks away from Europe then Britain has no choice but to pivot back towards the EU.
