@NickAnderegg No. You clearly don't understand the literature. No literature anywhere shows general T cell exhaustion.

See, this is the problem with "um acktchually-ing". I totally see why you think this! And I was ambiguous! - In the thread, I refer to the specific type of T cell exhaustion you are referring to! - In response to a question, I *did* then describe GENERAL T cell exhaustion.

@NickAnderegg I spend most of my time dealing with antivaxers, virus deniers, conspiracy theorists and cranks. You are none of those. However, scientific accuracy is absolutely vital, and there is a common claim that the virus causes general immune damage. It doesn't

@NickAnderegg You said that it increased susceptibility to other infections and cancer. So yes, you did.

Yeah—it’s worth saying this very clearly: Viruses exist We have abundant proof of their existence If you don’t understand that proof, this looks to be willful ignorance and very much a you problem Viruses are very much a real thing Image shows structural model

@NickAnderegg No, it specifically shows T cell exhaustion IN SOME T CELLS ONLY. Specifics are very important in immunology.

@NickAnderegg Sigh. I am a viral immunologist who has worked on viral immune evasion for thirty years, have been working on the immune response to SC2 and have a current project investigating immune exhaustion. I know what I am talking about. And none of your links show what you claim.
