When I worked in a grocery store, we stopped selling red delicious apples because they weren't selling enough. I had three older people ask me where they were & explained gently we no longer sell them. One lady pouted at me. This 60-something y/o woman stuck out her bottom lip +

When landlords shut off the heat or send goons to evict us the police say it isn't there concern, but try and protect your neighbors from being made homeless through fraudulent deed theft and the police will brutalize you.

Councilmember @OsseChi was arrested a bit ago while attending a protest against an eviction in Bedstuy. NYPD officers can be seen tackling him to the ground in this video posted on Instagram:

Eye-opening moment for me was meeting a Canadian during a conference in Europe who asked us, star-struck, what was "that amazing blue-winged bird" he saw in a park earlier. We struggled, eventually realising it was a magpie. Being too used to seeing it, we forgot how cool it was

Child trauma does this to you. I live with this. This is part of people pleasing/fawning, which is a trauma response designed to avoid conflict by placing others needs above your own (and avoid the chance to be rejected by others by not interacting with others).

My red flag is that if you don't talk to me, I won't talk to you either. But not because I don't want to talk to you, but because I think if you don't want to talk to me, I should give you space so I don't bother you

i think more redemption arcs should present a true challenge as in "what if your loved ones don't forgive you, would you still want to change?", i feel so much male character redemption is carried not by their actions but by women priorizing love over themselves.

Meet the 2,000 years old version of Hatsune Miku featured in my Vocaloid story! An android supposedly “inspired” by the real Hatsune Miku, the survival of culture in the future hinges on bringing her back to life.

in primary school, a kid two years older than me pushed me against a wall and punched me in the face several times He broke his finger, and I didn't even get a bloody nose I got suspended for a week, and he got one detention Despite being younger, smaller, and never throwing a punch, I was still punished more than he was, and you'd still call him the victim because he walked away worse off than I did People who think this way have no business holding any kind of authority

This post is an excellent litmus test for understanding of just war theory. Despite the fact that I can see how effective this would be, I must oppose it because the damage it would do to my enemy (who bashes in my mailbox) would far outweigh the good of saving my mailbox. Its disproportionality is opposed by our duty in charity (and even justice) to watch out even for the good of our enemies. (Yes, by the way, I have had my mailbox bashed in by random vandals.)

Lucas somewhat proving that revenge is a dish best served cold. Republicans intentionally targeted her in the early ‘00s to prevent her from becoming a congresswoman, decades later she removes 80% of their seats from the state

Thank you McDonalds for hiring those facing federal job losses. Every family deserves to earn a living and that’s why we raised our minimum wage in Virginia to $15 an hour.

We’re in the middle of a pretty important naval blockade standoff with a country we’ve threatened to destroy, so it seems like a weird time for the Secretary of the Navy to abruptly depart. And by “weird” I mean, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
Sean Parnell@SeanParnellASW

STATEMENT: Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan is departing the administration, effective immediately. On behalf of the Secretary of War and Deputy Secretary of War, we are grateful to Secretary Phelan for his service to the Department and the United States Navy. We wish him well in his future endeavors. Undersecretary Hung Cao will become Acting Secretary of the Navy.

What the vast majority of people in the 2000's actually liked: 1. Celebrity tabloid drama 2. Reality television and game shows 3. Dropping bombs on "A-Rabs" 4. Sentimental displays of patriotism and religiosity 5. Bullying children who didn't go along with the prior four items

Emo was despised by the vast majority of people in the 2000’s. It is increasingly the only thing anyone remembers about the 2000’s. Even MySpace was primarily just a platform for organizing emo music
