He'd been trading for 3 years, had a solid system - London open, 1:1 to 1:2 RR, averaging around 63% win rate on his A+ setups. Passed his first $100k challenge in 18 days. First payout came in at $3,200. Then he had one bad week. -3R across 4 trades. Nothing catastrophic. Just a normal losing streak. But something switched in his head. Trade 1 on Monday morning: stopped out. -1%. Instead of walking away - he opened another trade 20 minutes later to 'make it back.' Stopped out again. Now he's -2% in a single session. Panic. Opens a third trade. Wider stop this time, bigger size - 'I need to recover faster.' Breached the account by Tuesday afternoon. He bought 3 more challenges the same week. Spent $600 in fees. Did the exact same thing on all three accounts within 10 days. When I spoke to him he said: 'I just couldn't let the loss sit there.' That's the whole problem. Revenge trading isn't really about making money back. It's about escaping the discomfort of being down. And the market doesn't care about your discomfort. Here's what I told him to do: Set a daily loss limit of 1.5R. The moment you hit it - platform closed. Done for the day. No exceptions. Not because you lack discipline in general. But because once you're in a loss-recovery mindset, your decision-making is compromised. You're no longer trading your system. You're trading your emotions. He implemented the rule. Passed his next challenge in 3 weeks. Got a $4,100 payout the following month. The losing days didn't stop. He just stopped letting them turn into losing weeks. If you've blown funded accounts in a single session - it wasn't your strategy. It was what you did after the first loss.

Every single setup I take either hits BE or SL. I haven’t hit tp on anything but evals in probably 2 weeks I cant win. I’ve never felt so unmotivated to keep pursuing this, even tho I’ve proven to myself in the past to be profitable.
