The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Pininfarina Rondine is a unique concept car that combined American power with Italian styling. Designed by Tom Tjaarda for Pininfarina, it debuted at the 1963 Paris Motor Show.

Buick used the name again in 1985 for a mid engine sports car with all wheel drive and a fully exposed high performance, double overhead cam V6. The chassis used carbon fiber and vinyl ester resin and the body featured a 'lift up' canopy for entry and exit. The 1985 Wildcat is still owned by Buick today and is still operational. Engine: A naturally aspirated, 3.8 liter DOHC V6 developed in partnership with McLaren Engines. Performance: Unrestricted, it produced 360 hp and 398 lb ft of torque. Claimed performance figures included a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph. Drivetrain: Full time all wheel drive with a modified 4 speed automatic transmission. Weight: 1,320 kg (2,910 lbs) due to a lightweight carbon fiber composite and fiberglass body.
