@Actualtechfact @TheCardAlpha Read the rest of the thread... THey are almost as useless as Google Gemini is to developers.

@JCoNetLTD @TheCardAlpha So uh any news from the support? we all are waiting.
English

@TheCardAlpha Yeah I didnt think it would. All it did was delete the waiting list for me, and disable apple intelligence I had from "old siri" that used chatgpt app.
English

@JCoNetLTD Yeah, didn't do anything for me either. Back to the waiting game.
English

@sickplayer124 no im in. And I am in the UK. Just waitlisted rn. Working with support to fix. They have said try English (united states)
English

@J_dev363 So far, 5 minutes later, hasn't helped me. But it was the first useful thing support asked me to do that I hadn't already done in the past 21 hours trying to get in.

@JCoNetLTD Oh interesting, trying that right now. Let's see if it actually pushes it through!

16 hours and 22 minutes since iOS 27 beta 1 was installed and I instantly completed onboarding steps. which took 10 minutes total as I had to do something else, and time it took to press the "join waitlist" button. So thats 16h 12m on the waitlist and nothing, no update, no anything. Just a "you will be notified" message. What is going on? Anyone else experiencing this or got tips?

@J_dev363 Update:
Support finally gave me something useful that isn't a complete reset of my phone or contacting senior support tomorrow. Try resetting network settings and see if that helps.
English

given i am in the uk, and joined at 10:30pm the second the beta finished installing, its near what, 21 hours for me now? So I went to the support app, spoke to the ai support agent about it, diagnosing it all and am now chatting to the support team about it. I am hoping I can update this message shortly with why it is taking so long to get into the new siri stuff, and why i never saw my phone do any "indexing" at all since I updated to the beta. Unlike many others that have been indexing since they installed the beta, regardless of if they had gotten through the waitlist or not.

@JCoNetLTD Oof, that’s rough. Honestly, it’s probably just heavy traffic on Apple's servers right now anyway.
English

@TheCardAlpha I fucked up. Apparently, I needed to report this stuck in waitlist bug before 5pm, so I could get called by the UK senior support team... Guess it is going to be undiagnosed and I wont know what is happening until at least 7am tomorrow.
English

@JCoNetLTD Ah makes sense, it definitely indexed in the background while you slept. Still waiting on mine!
English

I dont even know if I did or not, or if the indexing was done by the backup/new phone transfer. Because I just installed the beta, joined the waitlist, watched a movie and fell asleep with my phone playin youtube videos. And woke up 7 hours later with no indexing message shown before or after i went to sleep.

@jewiss @LelloucheNico I usually like what the EU does, but like the online safety act blocking basically every website in the EU and UK unless we give ID and now this... which is a stupid take that could result in personal data breaches and unfair use by third party apps... the EU can get fucked.
English

EXCLUSIVE: Apple and the EU are telling very different stories on Siri AI, and right now, it's a standoff.
Apple's press release and comments to @LelloucheNico say the DMA would force it to give rival assistants deep access to messages, files, photos, app actions, and personal context, creating privacy/security risks.
I reached out to the EU Commission for comment, and they discussed it today (video below).
They said nothing in the DMA blocks Siri AI. Apple can launch it if it complies, but it must give rivals "equivalent access" and can’t use iOS to favour its own AI.
Apple proposed a “Trusted System Agent” and an 18-month rollout to ensure only approved third-party agents could run. The Commission says they weren't "DMA-compliant interoperability proposals."
Whatever that means.
This is a standoff over who controls the AI layer on iPhone. The EU isn’t protecting user choice here. It’s trying to regulate the iPhone’s AI layer, and EU users are the ones losing out.
iPhone users can already download ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. Apps like @poppysimplified can use your Mac to get system-level access for AI assistant apps.
The EU is demanding default, system-level access for any third-party app that claims to be an AI assistant. Which is dangerous, especially given Apple's privacy-focused AI stance. Apple, respectably, is not bowing down.

@Futur3Sn0w 17 pro still on the list, never got an indexing message. I think my phone was already indexed as I recently upgraded to a new phone and just did a backup 2 minutes before the update? that or it started while I was asleep and completed.
English

@AnxiousHolly You got new Siri? Unfair been on the waitlist since last night.
