I find it weird that Elon didn't mention NASA's Artemis II mission at all, despite posting quite a lot on other topics. He keeps saying space exploration is super-important to him. So does he really care about human missions to space, or is it only when it's a SpaceX program?

Exactly. It’s pretty strange how he only seems to have good things to say about crewed space missions if they involve SpaceX. It’s like he can't appreciate any other historical achievements in space flight, which is a bit of a red flag. It definitely feels like there’s a bit of a bias there when you only celebrate one specific company

elon musk has built an entire public identity around being the person who will take humanity to space and yet when nasa is about to send humans around the moon for the first time in over fifty years he has nothing to say. no congratulations, no acknowledgment, nothing. because artemis II flies on the space launch system which spacex didn’t build and the story doesn’t center him or his company in any way. the “space is humanity’s future” rhetoric has always been most loudly deployed when spacex is the vehicle for that future. when someone else is doing the actual work of space exploration the passion goes very quiet very quickly and that tells you exactly what the passion was actually about.

If the Artemis II was run by SpaceX it would have cost twice as much, had 4 times as many cameras, had a cool gimmick they could claim is technical superiority, and blew up before it reached orbit. I doubt Elon even attempts a launch before the IPO cash grab

After a 2nd succesful launch, how can anyone criticize the vehicle? 2 Launches, 2 succesful flights which start actual missions. Until it duplicates what SLS has done, don't tell me Starship is better. One showed what it can do while the other is still a theory.
