Walked Talons Of Tuscany in Ankeny, Iowa this weekend for the Albaugh Junior Invitational. Haven’t played it for a number of years. Was quite impressed…greens were incredible. Lots of improvement!

As a parent and buddy I love live scoring for amateur, junior and tournament golf as a whole. Fun to watch. But I miss element of playing, signing, and posting…seeing where chips fall at the scoreboard. If I had to guess, live scoring has ruined more good rounds than has ever helped from the player perspective.

@BendelowGreens Agree and have a love hate relationship with it. I’ll keep an eye on it a bit when my kids are playing but when they are playing and there’s no live scoring it feels the same as if they’ve been kidnapped

@BendelowGreens Couldn’t agree more! You might be missing something though….No one actually “cares” if you play well either. Or they care as a fleeting moment and if they are friends they are happy for you. Junior golfers seem to get great and play free when they realize it.

So many people are scared of competitive golf because….if they bad what will people say or think? Here’s the deal, the only time anyone cares what you shot is when play really well. Otherwise no one gives a shit. Play to play well every time. Hit it hard, find it, hit it again. Add ‘em up when ur done.

All right golf Twitter- you tell me what it should cost to play a Minnesota lakes area exec course. Par 64- 3300ish yards. Playing with my 11 year old in a cart on a Tuesday at 8am- no one else on the course. No tee times at this course. Tee boxes were weeds and clover.

@BendelowGreens Completely agree with 4-some of friends. Completely acceptable with 3 or 5 to be lone walker. Also friends qualifier is key. Walking to avoid a brutal cart partner is a good move

If it’s not about money ….It’s like anything else. If your buddies all want to go to Keens for a good steak…..but you want to go to Hooters…it’s socially weird to be the one guy going to Hooters. They all think you are slightly odd for walking….even if they don’t tell you.
