Earlier this year, I added futures to my trading. I expected lower timeframes to be mentally draining, but the opposite turned out to be true. Knowing there’s consistent volume at the same time every day brings clarity. You get feedback much faster than in forex, which makes it easier to collect data and see where execution can improve. Yes, the pace means tilt can happen quicker. I experienced that recently, something I hadn’t dealt with in years trading FX. Still, so far, it’s been a very positive addition.

The only reason I haven’t bought my own house to live in yet, despite having the money, is because I genuinely am concerned with the UK’s attitude towards high performers. I would much rather, for the next few years, prioritise other investments to grow and pay rent, to have flexibility and opportunity instead of being stuck in this current moment of time. Renting allows you to upgrade or downgrade based on how much you are making. It’s not a waste if you know you’ll out earn housing increases.
