@Yugiman101 I don't. Today's metagame is all about taking ten minute turns, summoning as many monsters as possible. It's why I used to stuff my deck full of cards that could block special summons, like Jowgen.

Does anyone LIKE modern yugioh? I keep seeing complaints about how the game has evolved over the years, and I wonder, for those like me who kept up with the game, do you still find enjoyment in today's play style?

Some of these Pokémon were cut just before release 👀 Before Pokémon Red & Green launched in 1996, around 190 Pokémon were originally planned, but 39 had to be scrapped due to limited Game Boy cartridge space. Over time, designs of these lost Pokémon began to surface from various sources, including a manga published by Satoshi Tajiri and prototype data shared by Helix Chamber, which revealed back sprites from a near-complete internal Pokédex. Later, even more unused designs emerged through Gold & Silver beta leaks. Artist @RacieBeep reimagined what these Pokémon might have looked like if they had made it into the final games.

Don’t understand how the Super Mario Galaxy movie is getting a free pass from criticism Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks are rightfully criticized when they put out a poor quality film, “It’s a kids movie” Beautiful kids films with great characters and deep themes exist 😑

As someone who enjoyed the Super Mario Galaxy movie, the hypocrisy is astounding. “It's just a kids movie. The quality doesn't matter. Adults shouldn't care.” Y'ALL TORE THESE MOVIES TO SHREDS.

@El_Locon_Gamer I, uh, don't consider Sue Storm a downgrade. Jessica Alba is beautiful, but not much of an actress. And the costume is stylishly retro.

Estamos en la peor generación de los últimos años del entretenimiento, todo está siendo degradado a peor. Esta imagen refleja nuestra triste realidad, no sé hasta cuando va a durar este declive que unos pocos defienden y financieramente blando la mayoría son insostenible.

In 'Tarzan' (1999), his 'tree surfing' movements weren’t just jungle acrobatics. Animator Glen Keane based the moves on Tony Hawk’s skateboarding because of his son’s love of extreme sports, giving Tarzan a wild, high flying energy.

@AuthorXoXie I think this is just a way for him to deflect criticism. My problem with Korra isn't that she's a strong, complex, and flawed character, it's that I didn't find her particularly likable or well-written, at least in the early episodes (especially early book 2).

@Nelleyeen And the person who wrote the twerking episode would go on to make Twelve Forever, which....that's all I'm gonna say.

See with Pixar, I don’t think they’re “kids” movies so much as, family movies Kids will watch the Incredibles and love it for the fun superhero stuff Adults will watch and love the stuff regarding the midlife crisis and commentary on society, and family drama (Plus the superhero stuff too)

@aakashgupta I think Disney deliberately set Treasure Planet up for failure because traditional animation was already being phased out.

What you're watching is a scene that required Disney to invent an entirely new category of animation software. Deep Canvas was built specifically for Tarzan. Artists painted individual brushstrokes into 3D space, and the software tracked the exact position of every stroke. When the virtual camera moved through the jungle, the system repainted the scene in real time from the new angle. Hand-painted art you could fly through like a Steadicam shot. The Deep Canvas sequences in Tarzan total about 10 minutes of an 88-minute film. Those 10 minutes required the team to build custom software from scratch, send animators on a two-week safari to Kenya and Uganda to study mountain gorillas in the wild, and render the most expensive traditionally animated film ever made at $130 million. The film grossed $448 million. Deep Canvas won a Technical Achievement Oscar. Disney used it twice more. Atlantis got a few sequences. Treasure Planet used Deep Canvas for 75% of its environments and pushed the budget even higher. It flopped. Disney took a $74 million write-down and blamed the medium. By 2013, Bob Iger announced there were zero hand-drawn features in development. The studio laid off most of its 2D animation staff. That same year, Frozen became Disney's first animated film to gross $1 billion. The math was settled. The technology that made this scene possible existed for exactly three feature films before the studio that invented it decided it was too expensive to justify. Deep Canvas won an Academy Award and then quietly disappeared.

At what point did Disney think it was a good idea to stop making animation this incredible?

@DBZimran Actually, bad advertising. I'm sure anyone will tell you the problem with low-grossing movies like Treasure Planet and Princess and the Frog was NOT the storytelling.
