@NHLhumor A Vegas pushed narrative. Leaf fans have moved on. Good for Mitch for figuring it out(maybe), but my god, 9 years and not much playoff output from him.
Can't wait for McKenna tho!
I decided to cook up a Matthews for Michkov and TOR’s 2027 1st hypothetical.
Very interested to hear what you guys think about it, because it makes sense in my mind!!!!
@TLNdc McKenna projects to Kane and Kuch
Stenberg projects to Nylander and Raymond with a defensive flare to his game
Guys, I want that high octane, 100+ point offence with a Canadian household name in McKenna all day long. Plus, I love he’s a little violent (off ice story)
🚨Regarding Mitchell Griddy Marner:
What’s the biggest difference from this year and years prior in the playoffs? He has played against far less physical top 6 forward cores in Utah and Anaheim vs years prior (Florida, Tampa, Boston). And it’s giving him confidence to make the plays he’s making. Griddy is a world class player no doubt, but the match ups have been way more favorable and tailored to his style of game. A leopard doesn’t change its spots. He’s just been reaping the benefits of less physical hockey against Utah and Anaheim. Not having to play against a bunch of dogs you’d find in Mike Vick’s backyard has made the world of difference for Mitchie. And that’s the truth.

@moleafs07@NHLRumourReport Competitive? Would be a grind just to have a sniff of the playoffs.
I understand everything your saying about the future picks, but the Leafs aren't forced to be competitive. Especially if it's "holding the bag" on assets names Matthews and Nylander into their 30's
@JesseFelstead@NHLRumourReport Likely won’t even be close to the same value. Matthews would go to a team trying to get into a contention window, aka late 1sts
They would be giving up lottery picks in 27” 28”
Look into the Flames trying to trade up for Nate Dog.
Leafs are kinda forced to be competitive
Jeff Marek: If John Chayka and Mats Sundin decide, okay look we've got Gavin McKenna, if we look to take Auston Matthews to market...personally I would look at Utah; players like Tij Iginla and Caleb Desnoyers and Simashev - DMase Vingan & Daunic (5/6)
@moleafs07@NHLRumourReport The pics we get back for Matthews and Nylander well offset what we will have to give up.
It's time to start fresh, new faces new bodies in the lineup. Let's completely start a new team here, it's a no-brainer
@JP8830763240 I'm on board for this. As much as I love AM, it may be time to do a full reset. Unfortunately the next few years are rough with no firsts, but it is what it is.
The best thing the #LeafsForever could do would be draft McKenna, trade 34, and 88 for picks, proven young players and start over. New Culture, new leaders, new look. Likely attract a few more FA's too eventually. And if Chayka had the stones to do that I just might like him.
@OverDrive1050 Over the next few months, draft hype for players other than McKenna will creep up, arguments will be made.
Leafs - Don't be different, ignore the noise that will come your way and take McKenna and don't look back
Does winning the NHL Draft Lottery change the team's direction?
John Chayka on the Maple Leafs receiving the number one overall selection.

Jason Bukala explains why he'd take Ivar Stenberg over Gavin McKenna at No. 1 overall if he were making the Maple Leafs' pick... sportsnet.ca/nhl/video/shou…
@reporterchris That's awesome and all but..
What about Wendel? He's always doing interviews and sharing his insight on the team for years. He's a great mind, would be nice to see him get a more prominent role with the organization.
@LookOut0001@Daniele_Media@Sportsnet Nah, your not deemed best coach in baseball with a roster that dictates itself.
Terrible take.
Roberts is a byproduct of his team, just a fact.
Some drama between the #BlueJays and #Dodgers.
George Springer approached HP umpire Dan Bellino to inquire about the amount of warmup time for Shohei Ohtani.
Dave Roberts was visibly annoyed in the dugout.
