I'm so happy to see this, thanks @JiveBailey. And I'm thrilled that people are buying The Pirate Mums in @gaystheword - one of my all time fave bookshops.

One very happy tiny buccaneer opening #PirateMums - beautifully wrapped by @gaystheword. Thanks @jodiemullish for writing a great storybook starring a boy and his mummies! We love it. Happy pride ♥️🏴‍☠️🏳️‍🌈

This is a brilliant self-assessment tool developed by our @UKStatsAuth colleagues. Having run/written on ethics of data sharing and use @UKDataService, I’m impressed with its simplicity. University Research Ethics Committees could take a look @arma_uk #ethics #researchintegrity

Our new guest blog by Simon Whitworth, Head of Data Ethics at @UKStatsAuth, explores the new UKSA #ethics self-assessment tool & asks for researchers’ help in improving it. Find out more: bit.ly/3cKHNlp #DataDrivenChange #DataEthics #AdministrativeData #DataResearch

The vaccine passports debate is a perfect illustration of my new working theory: that the most important part of modern government, and its most important limitation, is database management. Please stick with me on this - it's much more interesting than it sounds. (1/?)

This afternoon MPs debate the £20 uplift to #UniversalCredit For the first time since 2001, in our latest British Social Attitudes Survey the public were as likely to say benefits are too low as to say they are too high Report: bsa.natcen.ac.uk/media/39399/bs…

Good thread which illustrates the importance of *always* asking key questions about survey data - who responded (not just how many - large samples can be utterly unrepresentative), what questions were they asked, who paid etc
Adam Tranter@adamtranter

THREAD: A thread on research and sampling, and how the media use data and polling. I can safely say from a decade of working with media, it is *highly* unusual for a newspaper to so heavily reference a self-selecting and homemade survey and present it as the views of all people.
