Horn OK Please is written on the backs of trucks in India.
During World War 2, Britishers were sending India’s diesel to Europe. This caused a shortage naturally and India switched to Kerosene as fuel to run trucks.
Kerosene is volatile and trucks would blast in accidents and collisions.
So they started writing “HORN PLEASE ON KEROSENE”.
On Kerosine eventually became “OK” and got placed between Horn Please.
That’s how we got Horn OK Please.

So caste labels are offensive only when used against certain castes? Either judging people by birth is wrong or it isn’t. Criticize behaviour, not ancestry. If birth based stereotyping is unacceptable for one community, it should be unacceptable for every community.

Being called out as Nool/Brahmin/TamBrahm for having typical oppressor behaviour is NOT casteism btw!! Accept the fact that you are from the lineage of oppressors, understand the nuances and introspect on why you’re being called out, instead of taking the victim card always!!
English

@fudgy0_0brownie Very progressive. The solution to casteism is apparently more caste based assumptions, just applied selectively. Thanks for clearing that up 🙏👌
English

@Judith_utterly Castiest behaviour should be called out based on their privileges. Being a nool and TamBrahm is NOT an insukt, but a privilege. If you put both on the same pedestal, I’m sorry, I’ll end it here. Have a good day
English

@fudgy0_0brownie No, we’re not ignoring it. The question is why the caste label is necessary at all.
If someone displays oppressor behaviour, call out the behaviour. Why jump to Nool Brahmin or tanmbram??? If the criticism is about actions, focus on the actions.
English

@Judith_utterly “Having typical opressor behaviour” that’s the key word. Are y’all deliberately ignoring it?

I just woke up to a call from India. A family friend called and described his son’s situation. His son lost his job on an H-1B visa and needs to return to India in 60 days if he doesn’t find another. His son has already completed 52 days and has 8 more left. I listened and asked, “You are the one who always keeps posting that India has developed a lot under Modi, NRIs should return and serve India, America is bad, etc., on WhatsApp status. So what’s wrong with your son coming back?” He got triggered at first but later felt ashamed because I had shown him his reality.
This is the situation of the average misguided Andh Bhakt WhatsApp uncles in India.
