CULLEN HOROWICZ WITH A NICE STRIKEOUT IN THE ⬆️5! The Sanford transfer righty Horowicz was dealing fastballs (96-97 mph), but went with a front door breaking ball for the swing and a miss on this K! Loads of firepower in that arm, retired both men he faced!

'28 Aiden Horowicz (@RichmondBraves) Pitched 5.1 innings without allowing an earned run, striking out seven batters in hte process. Peaked at 77 MPH on the fastball, sat in the 74-75 range comfortably. Rode a 65-66 MPH curveball and 70-71 MPH changeup. The cambio froze plenty of batters for final strikes. Watch him battle back from getting behind a batter for a punchout. @PrepBaseballVA #VAFallOpen #VA32

“I’m not going to try to be like anyone else, or be like these guys that have pitched forever, because it’s just different for me.” New South Carolina RHP Cullen Horowicz (@CullenHorowicz) breaks down his commitment to the Gamecocks. on3.com/teams/south-ca…

Q&A WITH NEW GAMECOCKS RHP, CULLEN HOROWICZ: DO-“What drew you to South Carolina and why did you ultimately end up choosing USC?” CH-“South Carolina was the first school to reach out to me when I entered the portal. Knowing that they valued me, and it wasn’t just a passing interest was important to me throughout the process. Once I built a better relationship with Coach Rooney, and Coach Mainieri, and heard the vision they had for the program it was one of the easier decisions I have ever made.” DO-“You’ve been a two-way guy most of your career how are you working on the transition of becoming a full time pitcher?” CH-“The transition to a full time pitcher has been a blessing. I fell in love with pitching a year ago when I started really working at it. Being able to work on only the pitching side has been very beneficial, and I believe it will help me become the best baseball player that I can possibly be.” DO-“What is your mindset when you’re on the mound?” CH-“I come from a competitive family, and I consider myself to be a huge competitor. I have a bulldog mindset when I am on the mound. I don’t care who is in the box, I trust in the work I have put in to be in that situation, and trust the stuff that I have. I just attack every hitter, and if they hit it, they hit it, but I trust my stuff and my mentality more than whoever the person is hitting against me.” DO-“What would you say is your best pitch? “ CH-“I would say my best pitch is probably my slider, it’s tight, and I can throw it pretty hard. It pairs well with both of my fastballs. I can throw it in any count which makes it valuable.” DO-“Would you say that you’re a pitcher that gets fired up or stays calm on the mound?” CH-“I get fired up. That’s just the competitive side of it. I have become good at channeling that energy and aggression and using it to help me on the mound. It’s something I feed off of, and I hope my teammates at SC will too.” DO-“Do you have a favorite MLB team and who is your favorite player?” CH-“Growing up, I watched the Orioles. And my favorite player used to be Manny Machado playing infield as a little kid. But now my favorite player is probably Mason Miller. It’s a great story of how he grew into the player he is now, and it’s always fun to watch someone throw jet fuel.” DO-“Do you find yourself taking things he does and try to implement it into your game?” CH-“No, I don’t model my pitching game after anyone. I just resonate with his story and all of the hard work it has taken him to get to the point he is now.” DO-“What role do you find yourself most comfortable in on the mound?” CH-“I feel comfortable in any situation I’m called upon to produce in. I love the adrenaline of being a back end guy though, and that’s something I have fell in love with. Once you experience it, you can’t get enough of it.” DO-“How do you handle failure and setbacks?” CH-“Failure is such a big part of the game in baseball. It’s something that you will never be able to escape. I have learned how to lean into it, and just accept it as what it is, a learning experience. No one in this game is perfect, so learning from failures and moving on to the next opportunity is very important.” DO-“How do you work and communicate with your teammates?” CH-“I work and communicate well with my teammates. I have been able to build relationships with my teammates at the schools I have been to before South Carolina, and I am looking forward to meeting all the guys in Columbia and getting to work.” DO-“What are you looking forward to the most about playing at Carolina?” CH-“I’m looking forward the most to the tradition. It’s special for all of us there this year to be a part of the coaching staffs first recruiting class, and to be able to have the opportunity to revive South Carolina to the pedigree it was previously at.”

Equipped with "as much power as anyone in the nation," @CullenHorowicz lowered his whiff rate this fall while leading @SamfordBaseball in homers and doubles. He also saw some time on the mound, where he touched 98.

Arguably the biggest and most difficult yard to hit a HR in in Texas and possibly top 3-5 in the country in JC Baseball. Recent @DiamondHeels commit, Cullen Horowicz makes easy work of it dead CF and touches the all! @CullenHorowicz #Junction

Did anyone have a better day at the plate than Bear Horowicz? You’d be hard pressed to find one. 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple and an absolute BOMB! He’s off to a great start this fall and won’t be #Uncommitted long. @CullenHorowicz
