Tafsir: You Were Not Created Just to Enjoy the Dunya
Allah, the Most High, said:
اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُّعْرِضُونَ
“[The time of] their reckoning has drawn near for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.” (al-Anbiya)
Shaykh Abdul-Rahman ibn Nasir al-Sa‘di:
“This is an expression of amazement at the condition of the people, that reminders do not benefit them, nor do they take heed from a warner, and that their reckoning and recompense has drawn near for their righteous and evil deeds, while they remain in heedlessness, turning away; that is, heedless of that for which they were created, and turning away from that by which they were warned. It is as though they were created for the worldly life, and born only to enjoy it.”
(Tafsir al-Sa‘di, Surah al-Anbiya, Ayah 1)

For the One Who Magnifies Allāh, No One Is Above the Truth
Shaykh Nizār ibn Hāshim al-ʿAbbās (حفظه الله ورعاه) said:
“Whoever magnifies Allāh, and magnifies the right of His religion, Islām, and loves it and respects it, and makes that his aim and his character, it becomes easy for him to clarify the error and opposition of whoever opposes it, whoever he may be, even his own self that is between his two sides.”

Does It Anger You That the Truth Be Made Clear?
Shaykh al-ʿAllāmah Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyā al-Najmī (d. 1429 AH) said:
“Desist, O people, and repent to Allāh from supporting falsehood. Does it anger you that the truth be made clear to the people? And does it disturb you that some of your brothers come forward to clarify the correct ʿaqīdah with evidences from the Book and the Sunnah as well?
So if you have a proof with which to refute what we say in impugning these methodologies, then bring your proof which refutes our proof, and your evidences which invalidate our evidences. Otherwise, know that you are repelling the truth by day, and openly defending falsehood, whether you will or refuse, whether you are pleased or displeased.
And indeed, I fear for you that you may have entered among those who hinder [others] from the path of Allāh, those who seek it [to be] crooked, those about whom Allāh (عز وجل) said:
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَصُدُّونَهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ
‘And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided.’
(Sūrah az-Zukhruf 43:37)
And those of whom He says:
قُلْ هَلْ نُنَبِّئُكُم بِالْأَخْسَرِينَ أَعْمَالًا الَّذِينَ ضَلَّ سَعْيُهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ يُحْسِنُونَ صُنْعًا
‘Say, [O Muhammad]: Shall we [believers] inform you of the greatest losers as to [their] deeds? [They are] those whose effort is lost in worldly life, while they think that they are doing well in work.’”
(Sūrah al-Kahf 18:103–104)

A tremendous evening with our brothers and sisters in London at @_MuSunnah in Alperton (Thursday 9th April 2026).
Māshā’-Allāh, the Markaz was filled with listeners. With barely a day’s notice, Ahlus-Sunnah travelled from all across London and beyond to join us. The evening began with a dars by Shaikh @uwaysT followed by Shaikh @AbuIdrees and finally a reminder from myself.
It is important that we learn and convey this Deen with sincerity and good manners, becoming good examples for those around us—that we are humble and distant from the corrupting influences of social media—that we take the Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as our example, and then his Companions (Allah be pleased with them)—that we love those those who love and follow them, for they are Ahlul-Hadīth was-Sunnah—and thereafter, the foremost among them in every age are the scholars (may Allah raise their rank). I can say that over the years, we have benefited greatly from the noble manners of the ‘ulamā—shaping the way we behave and deal with the people—and I seek pardon from Allah for my shortcomings.
So, in the West, our communities should focus on seeking knowledge; then act on what we learn, cultivate our children, nurture righteousness in our homes and hold fast to the Sunnah.
Furthermore, Hijrah should be an important discussion in our households: actively planning and searching for a home in a Muslim country where there are already Salafi communities, however small.
Know that Hijrah from non-Muslim lands to the lands of Islam is an obligation—and a protection for you, your family and children; a safety net against the abandonment of religion today and in generations to come, inshā’-Allāh.
I also advise that you should not waste your time (and wealth) following the fashions, sinful habits and clothing of the non-Muslims because Islam has its own unique and proud heritage and identity—nor should you follow and obsess over the modern-day offerings of entertainment (such as football, boxing and movies) that are designed to divert people away from the realities of life and it’s purpose: the worship of Allah and following the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Focus, O Muslim, on what benefits you in this life and the Hereafter, bārakallāhu feekum.
Do not be impressed by social media influencers who seek only views, likes and followers. Our example is the Prophet of Islam—who taught us to be humble, truthful and sincere—then his Companions and the Righteous Salaf. In these times you see that example reflected in the manners of the scholars and their conduct (may Allah preserve the living and have mercy upon the deceased).
So, I advise you to get off your mobile devices and drastically limit viewing social media platforms—instead read books, attend duroos, get married, have children, focus on your families and build true Islamic homes.
May Allah aid the Muslims and guide them to the Sunnah and the path of Ahlul-Hadīth—and that is the Madhhab of the Salaf.
In this—by Allah—there is honour, just as ‘Umar (Allah be pleased with him) said: “We were a lowly people, and Allah honoured us with Islam. So if we seek honour in other than Islam, then Allah will make us lowly.”
Abu Khadeejah.
