The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Every generation gets told the same story. Restrict sex work and women will be safer. Increase policing and exploitation will disappear. History keeps proving otherwise. When you criminalize a class of people, you force them into silence. You make reporting violence riskier. You push negotiation into darker corners. Financial precarity has never reduced vulnerability. It amplifies it. Protection without autonomy has never been protection at all.
