Every possible means we have of assessing the loss of life in Gaza - from journalists on the ground, doctors in hospitals, international NGO's, first person accounts, aerial images of the scope of bombardment point toward an enormous human toll.

At the heart of our efforts to save innocent lives in this conflict – and every conflict, for that matter – is our core belief that every civilian life is equally valuable. A civilian is a civilian is a civilian – no matter his or her nationality, ethnicity, age, gender, faith.

Saw footage of an eviscerated child still barely alive, his face and legs completely gone. I’m at a loss - not at the depravity of the Israelis and Americans but really at the depravity of those who, especially in earnest, continue to ask “but what was Israel supposed to do?”

These fuel tanks are inside Gaza. They contain more than 500,000 liters of fuel. Ask Hamas if you can have some.

If Mexicans voted for ISIS as their next president, and then snuck across the border & murdered 46,000 Americans in one day, no one serious in the US would be calling for a ceasefire. We would destroy their govt, and Mexican civilian deaths would have no impact on our decision.
