Thank you Detroit Mercy Dental for hosting our students today for the Dental Imprint Program! Students explored a variety of dental careers and also got to participate in hands-on learning experiences. Exposure to a wide variety of careers is so important!

Friendsgiving 2023 was a huge success! We’ve got the best kids and a great community here at LSA. We are thankful to spend this time as a school together!

I had the opportunity yesterday to tour the Union Carpenters and Millwrights Skilled Training Center in Detroit with Traci Longenbarger and Crystal Lewis. Blown away by this state of the art facility 🤯 Such great opportunities for interested students to take advantage of!

Our Innovation Lab vision is finally coming together this spring! We’ve got individualized math support, 3D printing, gaming, and cooking all happening at one time. Great work, Mr. Patterson!

Students are learning how to code and wire today with a retired engineer. Pretty amazing student engagement - especially for our gamers!

This winter the @SupportBEF supported @LSA_Success students by helping us purchase 4 brand new Esports/Engineering computers. As I heard a student say today, “I’m actually getting excited to come to school now.” Thank you so much, BEF! More updates to come 😁 🖥️ 👨‍💻 👩‍💻 🤖

Having an awesome day at the Michigan State Capitol with our @LSA_Success students! A great leadership experience for our kids.

Shout out to JC! He’s giving up his time a few days this week to teach our kids about audio/video production and editing as they put together their final Leadership project for the trimester.

Ms. Nelson’s dad is a retired mechanical engineer and he graciously gave up his time today to teach us some engineering and coding! We plan to welcome him back in the very near future!

Our students had a great morning hanging out with our friends at the ATP! Such a beautiful new facility!

We are so grateful for Crystal Lewis, Traci Longenbarger, and Rondre Brooks joining us today! We learned about construction, real estate, entrepreneurship, and the skilled trades apprenticeships available through Detroit Carpentry and Millwright Training Center! Perfect day!

Students are working their way through some CAD work today in our Innovation Lab with Mr. Patterson. They are going to create some pretty amazing things this trimester…just wait!

Friendsgiving was a huge success today! Kids did a great job cooking their first turkey amongst several other sides. Thank to our parents who helped out with the food/desserts today. We have such a great community and are certainly #BPSBetterTogether
