𝗥𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗙𝗖 We can announce today that Football Secretary Ray Morton will be stepping down from his role, bringing to a close a remarkable chapter in local football that has spanned over five decades. Ray, who joined the club in 2018 during our memorable Division 2 title-winning season, has been an integral part of the club’s off-field operations and a constant presence behind the scenes. His knowledge, dedication, and passion for the game have left a lasting legacy not just at Billingham Town, but across the wider North East football community. Having been involved in grassroots and non-league football for over 50 years, Ray has become a well-respected figure throughout the local game. His decision to retire comes as he looks forward to spending more time with his grandchildren and enjoying a well-earned rest. Club Chairman Kevin Close said, "Ray has been a tremendous servant to the club and to the game. His experience, calm approach, and tireless work ethic have been invaluable. “While we're sad to see him step down, we fully support his decision and look forward to still seeing him on matchdays." Everyone at Billingham Town would like to extend our deepest thanks to Ray for his years of service and commitment. We wish him nothing but the very best in his retirement and hope the next chapter is filled with happiness, family time, and maybe even the odd Saturday spent cheering on Town from the stands. UTT
