Tyler Perry couldn't k*ll off Ricco Ross in "Beauty In Black", Ross explains "It was written that Horace was supposed to die at the end of the first season. When he's in the hospital, that's supposed to be the last time you see him. He [Tyler] says, 'listen, Rico, I'm just watching a scene, and I can't focus on the scene because the only thing that's going through my mind is I can't kill you off, and I love killing off characters. Because I love killing them off. I can't kill you off. I think the show needs you, and I'd love for you to stay on'. And that's when we decided that we would continue. And then he had to rewrite the rest of the series so that it made sense."
