I am not planning to take my fics down (for now) but all are private for the same reasons other authors are doing it: the conversation around fics/writers is too negative, too harsh, and at times very disheartening
It won't keep us from writing, but it might keep us from sharing

there's not much we can do about people leaving bad comments on fanfics and having no fandom etiquette but what we CAN do is make sure we send a ton of love to the authors we love. post about it here (WITH THE LINK), comment often, leave kudos. it's not rocket science

writing fics is one the purest forms of love and appreciation for media out there. it is given to you for FREE out of the author's good will. the fact that you think it's appropriate to publicly bad mouth the writing, certain authors, or leave public ratings is appalling

Friendly reminder that on a closed ecosystem like console, you are 100 % at the mercy of the platform holder, when everything becomes all-digital and their store is the only distribution option left. They will milk you for everything and then some, if you want your "convenience".
