"i'll just fix this one audio transition before i log off for the weekend" a massive lie i have told myself every friday night for the last three years. currently staring at keyframes on a saturday afternoon. #IndieSunday #VideoProduction

if your trailer spends more than 2 seconds showing inventory management, crafting menus, or skill trees... you are actively asking players to close the video. save the UI showcase for a devlog. the trailer is for action. let me see the gameplay loop, not the spreadsheet. #VideoEditing #IndieGame

i didn't start a trailer agency because i love cutting video. i could have done boring corporate ads for that. i started launchframe because i kept seeing insane indie games with zero players just because their trailer sucked and hid the fun. your 3 years of coding deserves better than a 60-second afterthought. #IndieDev #GameTrailer #GameDev

fast montage cuts synced to the beat look cool, but they’re completely useless if the player doesn't know what your game loop actually is yet. give them context first. enemy approaches -> player parries -> enemy drops loot. then you can do the flashy montage. #VideoEditing #GameDesign

trailer editing secret: your raw in-game audio is almost never punchy enough for youtube compression. if your character swings a heavy hammer, you have to layer cinematic SFX under it in the edit. add a bass drop. make it crunch. visuals get the click, audio sells the impact. 🔊 #GameAudio #IndieDev

a really easy way to make your game trailer look 10x more expensive: stop putting basic white text over a black screen. motion track it into the game environment instead. put the text behind a tree or anchored to a wall. it takes an extra 20 mins in After Effects but the production value goes through the roof.

i see so many indie trailers where the first 5 seconds is just the main character... walking across a field. i know you're proud of the open world you built, but viewers will actually click away in 3 seconds. cut the commute. show the sword swing. ⚔️ #TrailerTuesday #IndieGame

that’s the way to do it. It makes such a difference when you aren't fighting the UI for screen real estate. honestly, a 'trailer mode' toggle should be industry standard at this point. It’s a bit of extra work upfront but the payoff for the marketing is massive. Huge win for letting the art actually breathe!

GLAD - Indie Arena Game ~ WIP
@Launch_Frame this is so real. we spent way too long figuring out what to show vs hide in our combat clips. ended up making a minimal "cinematic HUD" mode just for recording because the full thing with health bars + cooldowns + combo counter was eating the entire screen

begging indie devs to stop leaving the full HUD on when recording trailer footage 😭 unless your game is literally a UI simulator, we don't need to see your minimap and 15 empty hotkeys. use the dev console. turn it off. let the art breathe. pls. #IndieDev #GameDev

Before you record footage for your trailer, check your game's Contrast. 🔆 When your video gets compressed by YouTube or Twitter, dark scenes turn into a muddy gray mess. Mobile users will literally just see their own reflection in the screen. If you have a dark, atmospheric game, you MUST use bright, highly contrasted lighting on your main character or key items so the viewer's eye knows where to look. #LevelDesign #IndieDevTip #VideoProduction

The hardest rule in trailer editing: "Kill your darlings." ✂️ I know you spent 4 months coding that beautiful puzzle mechanic. You are proud of it. But if watching someone solve a puzzle for 10 seconds slows down the trailer and makes viewers click away... we have to cut it. The trailer's job isn't to show everything you built. Its job is to make them want to play it. #VideoEditing #GameDesign #GameDev

Uncomfortable truth: The Steam algorithm does not care how clean your code is. It cares about two things: Traffic (Are people coming to the page?) Conversion (Are they clicking Wishlist/Buy?) A great game with a slow, confusing trailer will have a terrible conversion rate. And when conversion drops, Steam stops showing your game to new people. Fix your trailer pacing -> Fix your conversion -> Feed the algorithm. 🔄 #SteamStore #GameMarketing #IndieGame

Building an indie game isn't just art; it’s a massive investment of your time and capital. 📈 If you are aggressively pouring your monthly savings into development, art assets, and server costs... do not let a $0 marketing strategy ruin your ROI. Your trailer is your ultimate sales pitch. If it doesn't convert, the whole investment falls flat. Treat your trailer like your most important asset. #IndieDev #GameDev #Entrepreneurship

Cutting a trailer for a standard 2D game is one thing. Cutting a trailer for a Third-Person VR game? That requires a completely different playbook. 🥽 You have to capture the immense scale and depth of the VR environment on a flat, 16:9 YouTube screen—without making the viewer motion sick from bad camera tracking. VR Devs: What is your biggest headache when trying to record clean gameplay footage? #VRGaming #IndieDev #VideoEditing

"But the lore of my game is so deep!" 📜 I hear this a lot. And I love deep lore. But if you spend the first 30 seconds of your trailer showing me scrolling text about the "Ancient Gate" or a "Fallen Kingdom"... I have already scrolled past your tweet. Hook them with the gameplay. Hook them with the combat. Let them discover the lore after they wishlist the game. #GameDesign #SteamStore #IndieDevTip
