The IDEA class had the opportunity to make shortbread cookies! 🍪 We love incorporating functional skills into our program—learning that’s hands-on and delicious! @NicholasDPCDSB@DP_SELS
Writing skills were shining today! ✨ After creating snowmen with modelling clay and loose parts, students used rich descriptive language to write about their creations. This hands-on activity supported creativity, fine motor development, and writing growth. @NicholasDPCDSB
All DPCDSB schools and offices/facilities are closed to students and staff on Monday, January 26 due to winter weather conditions.
Secondary exams scheduled for tomorrow will move to the designated Contingency Day.
Acts of kindness go a long way! 💙 Thank you to our Youth Faith Ambassadors for reminding us that each of us matter and highlighting the importance of self-care. We appreciate the treats and keychains! @NicholasDPCDSB
Today our students had the opportunity to write a procedural piece on how to make Grinch fruit kabobs! Afterward, they followed their own instructions step-by-step to create their festive treat. @NicholasDPCDSB
Our fine motor activity today was all about creativity! Students made their own Christmas trees and decorated them with colorful beads. It is a fun, hands-on way to build fine motor skills while getting into the holiday spirit!
Our Ss are loving the chance to retell the Nativity story through coding! Using the “12 Hours of Techmas” lesson, they’re blending creativity, storytelling, and computational thinking to bring this classic story to life in a whole new way! @NicholasDPCDSB@DP_SELS@DPTechTeam
🎳💻 Today, our students got to combine bowling and coding! Using Sphero BOLT, the students practiced their bowling skills. Learning + fun = a perfect strike! @NicholasDPCDSB
In math, we continued exploring patterns—but with a musical twist! After building our patterns, we brought them to life by playing them on the piano. 🎹 The students in the IDEA room loved hearing their patterns turn into music! @NicholasDPCDSB@DP_math@DP_SELS
Literacy in action! We used an AAC device to dive into a text, practiced high-frequency words, and expressed ideas through writing and visuals. Every student found their voice today! 🌟
