@md84861122 A well monetized game, even at 500 players can support a single person. Before I was removed from Roblox Titanic and Tsunami Game at their heights I was earning 3k-5k a month, it was enough to live off of for 6 years without any other job. I was paid 35% and 24% respectively

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think Matt’s response is A-class and I’m glad he came out and said it transparently.
“Roblox is not the platform it was five, ten, almost twenty years ago.” I know it’s hard to accept, but it is the reality.
He even acknowledges that age verification is widely unpopular.
By no means am I going to defend Roblox for every decision, but his take of “Some Roblox everywhere is better than full Roblox nowhere.” is a fantastic way to put it.

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

Also Roblox isnt the same platform it was years ago. It kept growing to tens of millions of daily users. You cant apply the same rules of a small town to an entire city

@Reverse_Bobo @Twoket9 No matter what update they bring to the platform, all they can do is reduce the count of bad actors. No one will ever be able to vanish every predator off the platform with a single update on a platform with over 20M users playing everyday.

The whole point of this update is to stop bad actors. If you look at any other streaming platforms, theyr all asking you to verify and pay.

@jessedowo It's $5 a month. And anyway, even after publishing a good game, you would still need hundreds of dollars to advertise it. If you can't pay for this subscription, you were never serious about publishing a game and marketing it.

This ruins development for young developers. The VAST majority of developers under 16 don’t have an ID, nor the money for Roblox plus🤦♀️
What’s the point for young developers to practice and develop their skills if they can’t even publish their games for their target audience
I am SO lucky to have had access to studio and publishing when I was younger, I got to develop my skills and learn how to make good games which takes YEARS
It’s so upsetting younger developers won’t get the same opportunities I did, I’ve found my love for game development through Roblox
Roblox was built on younger developers, it’s genuinely sad to see them move in this direction. Completely disregarding their past.
If you are a younger developer, I recommend you switch to another platform. It’s a difficult switch but it WILL be worth it in the end. I don’t see a point in staying with this platform unless you are already established. I only see Roblox continuing to create harmful updates and pushing for corporations controlling the majority of games.

@loveanwgel They made an update where if they detect suspicious activity, the account that was sent the robux to will have to wait about 10 days before receiving the robux. I think you can look up and see in the pending transactions tab

I feel so helpless right now. I paid out 200,000 robux to my alt loveanwgeloutfits so I could upload ugc, and it said suspicious activity was detected, then I pressed payout again. It paid out an additional 2 times, with no "payment processed" or anything. I check the account, and 0 robux was sent to it.
I was on call with my friend @DisordinanceRBX who saw my group funds vanish from 4.2 million robux to 3.6 million robux. with no audit log of 600,000 robux being paid out.
I genuinely feel helpless and I really need help because this is serious money and it vanished without a trace or an audit log mention. I also feel like no one will believe me but I swear on my life both me and my friend saw this robux vanish out of thin air...
