I’m a bigot because I think that changing your appearance doesn’t metaphysically change your sex. I’m an even bigger bigot for treating all people who are worthy of respect, with respect, regardless of their chosen or immutable appearance. Trans people are always welcome in my spaces here on X. As a gender weirdo myself, who has accepted her sex, I don’t hold animosity towards gender weirdos who continue to feel ambivalence about theirs. I feel a ton of animosity for people who behave like deranged lunatics, however, regardless of their personal appearance. We can hold different beliefs about what our ‘gender weirdness’ means about who we metaphysically are, or about how we ought to live our lives, or about what this means for policy, and still be fast friends. This is not actually complicated.
