I painted yellow swallowtail and Red admiral. The end of butterflies. They are eye destroyers. From now on, there will be surcharges for butterflies. 🦋 So glad to go back to painting girl’s faces tomorrow. #butterflies

@LiverpoolCakeCo This terrain has very harsh conditions. Travellers often perish under heat of Taklamakan desert, the desert of Death. People made tributes to those Buddhist caves before they left. Most of the Silk road had terrible conditions but these parts were worse. So that’s why. X

Diorama. She is the first piece of the Silk Road theme. She has gone to a lovely lady’s home. From the right, landscape depicts Zhangye Danxi, Dunhuang mogao, Tien shan, Taklamakan desert, Flaming mountains, Turfan and Kucha. They are the place I have wanted to visit. #SilkRoad

Ladies and gentlemen, Mike challenged himself to bake millefeuille this Christmas. It was unexpectedly easy using Just-Rol. He made excellent Crème patisserie. I assembled them. We had 6 servings. I assembled each just before eating to avoid it going soggy. I loved them! #cake

Today’s cakes. Same cake house but from Kyoto. We have become the fans of Whittamer. Complex layers of tastes are so enjoyable. Mine had nut and chocolate and more. His had chocolate and berries. Delicious. Typing this made me hungry for it again! #cakes

“Hard to believe this was nearly 30 years ago—Electrafixion. Not the best band name, but I still remember being in a phone box near the Mersey Tunnel, on the line with the record label, urgently needing a name. ‘Crucifixion by electric chair’ popped into my head… Electrafixion. Really cracking into book three now that all the touring is over. Had a few ideas for a title but nothing concrete yet. I need to do quite a bit of research and make sure the dates and my memory are correct. Been playing a bit of @alicecooper to help out this morning.

@MidoriTakaki Time pressures sap the joy out of creativity. As long as you can take the time you need to do what’s needed on a piece, the joy and beauty of creating remains . ❤️☺️

@LiverpoolCakeCo It was the decision that came with my new chapter in my life. I still accept commissions. All have given me such joy to do, too. Otherwise, I won’t take up. And I take fewer. So I won’t myself worn out or get stressed out. I like this slow pace. 🩷X
