Nice start with 6 massive priced placed horses. Hopefully I can add an actual winner in Aintree. I’ve loved one for the national for over a year 🤞🏽.

The fact that I will miss it hugely, isn’t the point really. My wife never missed it, and it prepared her for Cheltenham every year. It is the only racing podcast/YouTube she ever watched. #irreplaceable

Here is the results for Cheltenham for @oddschecker column . Average price gone up again to 40/1. 6 places is way above expectations, 0 winners is not. I’ve got used to not many winners at my average price, but still no “the only one cheering” this year. Still 47% ROI has to the actual thing to take out of it.

Last few years have seen some big on course improvements. You can go the whole week and see as little of that as you want. There are loads of options. I saw very little of that for the week. But I’m going there to look at racing, going between stands , ring , members etc. All with minimum of fuss.

@LongShotValue I heard the exact opposite from someone who has went for decades and has no interest in returning to the festival. "More like a peaky blinders darts event". Good to have difference of opinion sometimes i guess.

@ghackett17 @oddschecker Yep I’m goin for go though , the podcast and pick out my mistakes on that as well, and report . Basically he was too short most of the time, and the price I wanted wasn’t there when I was looking. Delighted for the horse .

I wouldn't have believed you in 2024 if you'd told me then that the novice hurdle winners Ballyburn, Slade Steel in particular who were so impressive, & even The Stellar Story & Champion Bumper 2nd Romeo Coolio wouldn't be winning again at this Festival. Just shows how hard it is to kick on again as a novice once out their age group. Note of caution for anyone backing AP for next season's Festival.
