I am devastated to inform you all of the death of Fly on the Wall Press author, Laura Fish. My thoughts and prayers are with her partner, Michael, and family at this terrible time. It has come as an awful shock, having worked so closely with Laura over the last year since we agreed to publish her third novel. Just days before the release of that powerful and beautiful story, Lying Perfectly Still, it is deeply sad to know that she will not see this important project through to completion. I know that the Fly on the Wall family of authors will be equally saddened to hear this news. Please know that I value each and every one of you more than you can know. The best way that I can honour Laura is to ensure that her work is heard. With a voice of great literary quality, integrity and generosity, Laura’s work has lifted underrepresented and marginalised voices, with empathy and respect for their stories. She had hugely important things to say and I intend to make sure her voice remains present. Rest in peace, Laura, and God bless you. Isabelle Fly on the Wall Press

Living in Manchester, with a diverse friendship circle of gorgeous humans, it is terrifying to hear of riots coming to the direct street I live on tonight (and across streets my non white friends live on). We've all been told to stay indoors 6-10pm by building managers.

What we’re witnessing is terrorism masquerading as rioting masquerading as protesting, exploiting brutal violence against women and girls to justify it. It’s horrific and my heart goes out to everyone who has been hurt or is living in fear of these racists.

Racism is alive in Britain because it never died. The same horror stories my dad endured being a brown immigrant in this country are the ones I’m seeing repeat themselves today. The same racists that tormented our parents raised their own kids who are tormenting us. #ukriots

Last night I was the victim of a homophobic attack. Walking down Dean st in Soho with my partner @suddenlyjoseph, I feel a blow to my head. A man has hit me with an umbrella, the wooden handle hitting my head with such force it fell off and into the road. (THREAD)

The “No Pride in Genocide” bloc in Glasgow today was by far the largest and vibiest section of the pride march
