🌽2025 U.S. corn yield comes in at a record 186.5 bu/acre. Iowa and Illinois didn't do as well as previously expected, but plenty of other states, particularly Minnesota and North Dakota, notched very strong results.

World corn stocks are up drastically from last month on a bigger U.S. crop. World wheat stocks up again, unsurprisingly.

With December #corn futures rolling off the board here is an update of the historical December corn futures highs rankings by month.

U.S. corn stocks are slightly higher than in Sept (smaller crop, bigger exports, bigger carry-in). Beans are slightly smaller - smaller crop, smaller exports, smaller carry-in).

🌽2024/25 U.S. corn ending stocks = 1.532 billion bushels. That's 207 million more bushels than USDA estimated earlier this month, the biggest such deviation in 5 years. By %, it was USDA's biggest underestimation in ending stocks since 2012/13.

🌽U.S. corn yield is expected at a record 186.7 bushels per acre, but most states are seen with lower yield potential versus a month ago.

US corn yield comes in above all trade estimates. Soybean yield lands at the top end but production is down.

All trade estimates for USDA's supply & demand report due Tuesday at 11 am CT. Major changes are not necessarily expected, but tariff-related adjustments are on the table according to USDA.

🌽Money managers cut their net long in CBOT #corn futures & options in the week ended Feb. 25 to 337,454 contracts, down 16k on the week. Futures fell 4% during that week, though they plunged 5% between Thursday & Friday alone on tariff fears.
