After a run, drawn to sitting in these branches of the Treaty Oak. Although contrast was actually signed beneath this tree, the story has saved the tree. Even when not true, tree stories touch us, and save trees. #ISLPMC #treatyoak #ethnobotany #jacksonville

Taking an evening FL walk, when I turned to look, and wah! Sunset bursting down the street. Enjoying these moments of color and light. #sunset #delraybeach

Favorite tree on my FL bike ride. I like to take a minute and stop, look, enjoy, eat a tangerine, and continue on my way. #bikeriding #delraybeach

In Galway, rainy night, and I am cozy in the pub clearly excited about the Guinness we are about to enjoy. Irish music coming in through the doorway tops it off. #ireland #Guinness

Heading out for a morning run, greeted by great big dangling swaths of Spanish Moss. It is neither a moss nor Spanish, and is in the same family as pineapples (Bromeliaceae). #Spanishmoss #bromeliaceae #epiphyte

Taking a moment to switch water bottles in the shade during my bike ride and noticed the strangler fig. It is using the palm tree for support, and will eventually shade it out. #stranglerfig #bikride #highlandbeach

Took a moment to stop on my bike when I saw so many sea grapes dripping over the road. Coccoloba uvifera, native to coastal South Florida, not only produces edible fruit (often made into jelly), they grow well in sandy soil. #delraybeach #seagrapes #coccolabauvifera #bikelife

I went down to the water after beach yoga, just to dip my toes, and I couldn’t resist. I jumped in and the water was warm and soft, delicious. Bit of a wet ride home, and worth it. #sunsetyoga #beachyoga #delraybeach

Back in Florida on a hot sweaty morning run, treated to a fragrant frangipani (plumeria). Native to tropical and subtropical America, it has become known for making leis in Hawai’i. #plumeria #frangipani #delraybeach

I could watch these California ground squirrels all day long, also known as the Beechey ground squirrel, as these live right up from the beach. They live in the western United States, and their range is starting to expand. #californiagroundsquirrel #loverspoint #pacificgrove
