📌 COURT UPDATE Bail for Emmanuel Sitima has been denied. The presiding magistrate justified the ruling by alleging he is a flight risk likely to abscond. The trial is now scheduled to commence on 24 April. Bail is a fundamental right. The baseless reasoning used to deny our fellow comrades release is nothing but a political pretext to keep them languishing in remand. We reject this injustice outright. We demand: 1. the immediate and unconditional release of Emmanuel Sitima and all detained comrades. 2. an end to the arbitrary denial of bail and the weaponization of the courts to silence dissent. The struggle continues. We will not be silenced.

JUST IN: Pro-democracy campaigner @AllanChipoyi & former legislator Amos Chibaya have filed urgent court application at High Court seeking an order to interdict & restrain @ParliamentZim & Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda from proceeding with any further stages of the legislative process concerning Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment Bill (No.3), 2026 including but not limited to the tabling of any report on public consultations or the Second Reading of the Bill. The duo wants the High Court to order Parliament to conduct fresh, safe & inclusive public hearings. In their application, Chipoyi & Chibaya, who are represented by @obeyshava1 of @ZLHRLawyers, argue that the public hearings conducted by Parliament between 30 March 2026 & 2 April 2026 violated their right to freedom of expression as protected under section 61 of the Constitution & also failed the test of fairness & inclusivity, thereby rendering such hearings a nullity ab initio.
