What’s wild to me about all of this is the reason the US has shifted a lot of jobs offshore is literally BECAUSE of capitalism. It’s bc companies need to grow endlessly so they look to non-US markets for resources. Making America “great again” in this framing means losing money

Impressive that SEVERANCE did a whole musical sequence in Season 1 that went viral on social media, then they super explicitly went back to that well a second time in Season 2... and it went EVEN MORE VIRAL. That's hard to do.

So it’s fine to be excited about this and enjoy it. I kinda hate the demonization of people having fun with this. What I do want to demonize is if people can’t tell or appreciate the difference.

My concern with this is that society will end up forgetting how to appreciate art that has real heft. AI tech will keep getting better, zero doubt. My doubts are more that humans will stop caring about the difference and allow true art’s economic replacement, piece by piece.
