@DuaKhalifa14 Absolutely this (tinsel hair, butterfly thigh tats, glare at Igor in the diner, etc). Anora Mikheeva, like every woman, is has depth and nuance that is often overlooked.

@ma1ybe Yeah, this poster is honestly so unfair. The claim isn’t propaganda, it’s based on the lived experience of SOME women who simply don’t want to feel forced into those things.

Whenever I see stuff like this I remember that the first criminal prosecution of marital rape in the US didn't happen until 1978 and it wasn't illegal in all 50 states until 1993

While I'd prefer government officials to just keep their faith to themselves, this language doesn't bother me either. I get floored when they bring in pastors, rabbis, etc to government functions and have things like prayer services on the citizens dime.

@Midwesthomo77 What these cretins consider “sin” mustn’t be tolerated in the name of “loving thy neighbor.” That sort of mentality is part & parcel when your approach to daily human existence stems from the contents of a book instead of learning through experience.

1st: Anora is review bombed by Brazilians. 2nd: Anora's score is still extremely high. Sean Baker doesnt make films across all audience. Anora is extremely loved but it will always be divisive and hated by Conservatives

The way we talk about GREEN BOOK is fascinating to me, because there’s the hatred around it in cinephile spaces and online circles, and then there are the actual audience scores. It has a higher LB rating than ANORA, THE POWER OF THE DOG, NOMADLAND, THE SHAPE OF WATER, and ARGO.

@MendezMovieRPT Green Book & Coda both being movies that appeal to “common” general audiences over critics and cinephiles/film scholars prove a very distinct taste in film between these two groups. Call me elitist, but praise from the mass consensus doesn’t equate to cinematic excellence.

BTW CODA has just as equally strong audience scores. This is why the accusations of EMILIA PEREZ being review-bombed felt off to me. The two most “hated” BP winners of the last decade had great audience reception - even on Letterboxd! What we saw with EP last year was different.

@PickingPeaches1 What’s so fucked up is that there are some women who actually think this is how it should be. Certainly some who’d give up their own freedoms in a heartbeat provided gays lose theirs, “if I can’t have basic freedom, nobody else can” mentality. Madness!

@MarkowitzJake She wants “traditional,” she’s a dumb cunt. Traditionally women don’t have an education, they’re illiterate, they can’t drive, can’t vote, can’t do anything unless their husbands ALLOW it. Traditionally women are basically a piece of furniture for men to be kept as a wench.

If you oppose Woke Homophobia from the Left, like I do, then you must oppose Right-Wing Homophobia and not make excuses for their "religious" beliefs. I hope this helps. Thanks.

@quesadaaa_ Completely inexcusable when perpetrated towards INNOCENT people. As an act of revenge against the most evil of people, it can absolutely be justifiable. James Peterson’s parents both would’ve deserved it 💯% & frankly I’m mad that they weren’t (this should not be controversial).

Rape is the only crime I can think of that's 100% inexcusable. There's absolutely no reason for it ever. In any circumstance. You can murder in self defence, you can steal to help your starving family. Even doing illegal drugs can really help calm people down. But rape doesn't help anyone except the rapisto And it just baffles me to this day the way people will excuse rape with, "Well he/she was drunk." or "What was she wearing?" or "He's a guy though, he probably enjoyed it." it's the one crime that everyone should find inexcusable and yet it's the one that people try to justify the most often.
