@ciaraquill Absolutely not a fan of the points system, not in any way inclusive!

#edchatie For once, I agree with Brian Mooney. “This is not an uncommon view among students heading into the Leaving Cert cycle: they target subjects with a view to maximising their points. It is, in my opinion, utterly wrong – for a whole series of reasons.”

My son plans to drop higher-level Irish for the Leaving Cert. Is this a good idea? irishtimes.com/ireland/educat…

Kate/Catherine, Princess of Wales greets Donald and Melania Trump at Windsor Castle earlier today. That burgundy shade really suits her. I do like the hat, bag and diamond and ruby earrings. It’s lovely to see her wearing the diamond Prince of Wales brooch which Diana also wore.

Yes, wonderful article by @CorkNutrition , reminding me as a home economist to focus that little bit more on teaching the perils of misinformation..

The previous experience suggests that a strong independent Secretariat is an essential ingredient. When that is announced we will know whether it's a serious endeavour or not.

@ciaraquill 1/3 For the Education Convention to be impactful, we need a diverse planning committee, involved from the start and including representation from students, parents, teachers, administrators, policymakers, employers, community leaders, technology providers and researchers.

@ciaraquill You have a point @ciaraquill , it tends to be more associated with business but used a lot in education, especially research.

@Masonbrook Yes I can, thanks. “Teachers” should include not just teacher unions but also the subject associations. Many teachers aren’t in a union (especially younger teachers) but many join subject associations. SNAs deserve to be mentioned & the word “stakeholders” should be avoided IMO.

@ciaraquill 2/3 Conduct pre-event surveys and stakeholder interviews to identify the most pressing challenges faced by the Irish education system. Design parallel sessions to allow all delegates to focus on their primary interests. Mix large keynote presentations with small roundtable disc.
