The previous experience suggests that a strong independent Secretariat is an essential ingredient. When that is announced we will know whether it's a serious endeavour or not.

@ciaraquill 1/3 For the Education Convention to be impactful, we need a diverse planning committee, involved from the start and including representation from students, parents, teachers, administrators, policymakers, employers, community leaders, technology providers and researchers.

@Masonbrook Yes I can, thanks. “Teachers” should include not just teacher unions but also the subject associations. Many teachers aren’t in a union (especially younger teachers) but many join subject associations. SNAs deserve to be mentioned & the word “stakeholders” should be avoided IMO.

@Masonbrook @Education_Ire I wouldn’t clap just yet. The voices of teachers on the ground must listened to and taken on board & not just soundbites from the usual “stakeholders”, unions & principal groups who don’t represent all teachers. If it turns out to be a talking shop, it will be a waste of time.
