Police responses to emergency situations such as these do need later reflection in the right forums, but I accept that social media is not the appropriate channel for doing so. I have invited Mark Rowley to meet with me to discuss the police response and the wider issues raised in his letter.”

It was not effective, it is directly warned against by their own standards and as a member of the London Assembly he has a right to comment on the Met. Officers bravery does not negate met training failures. It would be on them if he died.

@ZiaYusufUK You’re badly uninformed on PREVENT. Still. Do some reading. The threat posed by an individual is fluid: it changes over time. It can only be assessed at the point of referral. PREVENT is a non-criminal programme: engagement is voluntary.

So now we learn that this was YET another stabbing by a man who had been previously referred to PREVENT. Just like Rudakabana. At this point, if PREVENT were being honest it would rename itself FACILITATE.

@AdamAdamhall388 @piersmorgan @ZackPolanski That is a lie. Watch the footage again. He was kicked in the head because he still had the knife in his hand and refused to drop it after several warnings. He was only handcuffed when police managed to free the knife and overpower him.
