Celtic FC can confirm that we will be submitting an appeal to the SFA in relation to the red imposed on Auston Trusty during yesterday’s match. The Club believes that the player was wrongfully dismissed and that the decision was reached following VAR intervention.

St.Mirren 1 Hearts 0 A massive three points for Saints as they inflicted just a third league defeat of the season on the leaders. Whilst the red card was an obvious turning point I felt we were the better side from the 1st minute to the last and fully deserved the victory. Still look fairly clueless in the final third at times, but confidence is everything in football and there's no doubt the players were feeling the pressure given the run we've been on. A super winner from the always impressive Miguel Freckleton who is an absolute diamond. Hopefully this is the catalyst that kick starts our season. Onwards to Airdrie on Friday night! A really lacklustre and sloppy display from Hearts which was epitomised by the absolute mess they got themselves into which led to the red card. Going down to ten was bad enough but to then have to sacrifice Kyziridis was a real blow and without much of an out ball they never really looked like repeating the 10 man heroics of Tynecastle just a few weeks ago. I did think they defended really well second half, but it was just one of those nights when they weren't at it and ultimately paid the price for it. A blow to the title hopes no doubt, but they'll still be at least 3 points clear come this time tomorrow and they don't need to go back to Paisley this season, so plenty reasons to remain upbeat!
