We appreciate the NSJA for their ongoing commitment to organizing this event that uplifts the Black community and for showcasing such an inspiring display of local Black excellence in the City Hall foyer.

Congratulations to all the recipients of the North Shore Juneteenth Association's (NSJA) Local Black Excellence Awards! Black history is Lynn history and we are always thrilled to pay tribute to the stories and triumphs of these Black leaders, in their communities and our own.

I’m proud of Lynn’s progress and while much remains to be done, I’m hopeful and inspired by our community’s actions and Dr. King’s lasting legacy.

In a divisive time with diversity equity, and inclusion being targeted, I want to reaffirm my commitment to these values as Mayor. Dr. King’s vision reminds us that the fight for justice is ongoing and requires collective courage and action.

As we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this year, we reflect on his enduring impact on justice and equity. His words and actions continue to inspire Lynn and beyond, guiding efforts to create a more just society.
