Does protein dimerization always help targeting and dwell time on DNA? Not for a population! Spacing between DNA targets has big impact. Nonspecific binding and facilitated (1D) diffusion play a key role. Super proud of Mankun Sang’s work!

The core of this study is the secretion-catalyzed assembly mechanism which we demonstrated by biochemical approaches and ultimately using EMs to visualize the cells in cellulo. Collaborated with @Mejohnson81 and @sikao14 , we also did a RD simulation to support this idea.
