Malzahar Items: Malzahar is the unit you want to itemize specifically for. As Leeching Nucleus provides healing, you want to maximize upfront damage as much as possible. The best way to do that is with Nashors x2 + JG (similar to most AP carries this set).

Zoe Items: There’s a lot of item economy to factor in here as Malzahr essentially shares types of items as and Zoe usually gets leftovers unless 3*ed early. In general you want: 1 Mana 1 Gunblade 1 Flex (GS, JG, Rab, AA, etc…) Disruptor Emblem is also really good on her.

How to Play: Targon Malzahar This comp was slowly making an appearance in the last patch but only jumped to S tier this patch with buffs to: - Zoe 3 - Leona 3 - Meta becoming 3-cost reroll Other powerful 3-cost rerolls like Ahri, Kennen, Draven, Darius and Jinx becoming more meta have boosted each other due to the shared pool and rolling tempo.

The board also has a very high cap if you manage to get there with Orrn being able to print you Artifacts. Zilean is played over a unit like Orianna (you are usually playing 2 Pilt on lvl 8) who helps you get 9 if you find him early or becomes a true carry if you’re already on lvl.9. Volibear wants Titans, BT and Steraks/Edge of Night and is one of the strongest carries late-game if you manage to 2* him. The comp is also filled with versatile artifact holders, so you'll rarely find a ‘bad’ artifact forged from Ornn.

5) Frejlord Lissandra This was always a very strong comp all throughout the set, but was always lacking in stats because of one glaring issue - the comp was barred behind unlocking Volibear. Without him your game was pretty much a wash without any way to stabilize. In the new patch his unlock HP threshold went from 3800 to 3400, making him much easier to unlock without needing things like Warmogs, ‘Giant and Mighty’ or Sion stacking from 2-1.

@MetaTft Would be nice to see the exact avp on each of the dates so we can see if the unit shifted because other units got shafted or because the unit or the build around it got better

The main trend we see among 2 costs is Aphelios, Bard, and related reroll units shooting up in the rankings, while Zaun and Demacia units fall off some more. The 1 costs are very similar, however Caitlyn is a standout winner - mostly benefitting from the buffs to T-Hex here.
