The Maple Leafs have signed Landon Sim to a two-year, entry-level contract, beginning next season. Signed to an AHL contract this season, Sim has three goals in 13 games with the Marlies. He also tallied two goals and six points in 18 games in the ECHL with Cincinnati.

Can't make sense of the Leafs dressing Calle Jarnkrok over Michael Pezzetta for Sat night (after some podcast remarks you may or may not care about) vs. rival team with the game outcome irrelevant. Pezzetta is under contract next year, not Jarnkrok. What's the goal tonight?

@jtbourne Because our coach is mostly clueless when it comes to lineup decisions. He's built his career / reputation on a run where his goalie was lights out. Credit for winning a cup but he's clueless.

To balance this point: if they thought he could help, you'd have seen him sooner. He had zero goals in 45 NHL games in 23-24 for the Ducks. But shouldn't look out of place in the NHL, and who knows from there.

Groulx recalled. I feel like people don't know how hard scoring is in the AHL. That's good for 3rd in goals (four behind leader Arthur Kalyiev, who has 200+ NHL games), and 12th overall in points. Jakob Pelletier leads w/ 61 points.

@Laughts21 63 year old Leafs fan here. You became my favourite current player very early on in your time here. You just play the game the right way. Honestly, I just wish our coach would've found a better way to make use of what you bring each and every game. Good Luck & hope you'll be back

@jtbourne I'm 63 and honestly I'm done with them until they hire a GM and coach. A 3rd for Laughton should be a fireable offense based on what our village idiot paid for him. This idiot coach has mishandled the lineup AND has them all doing the dump and chase game. Which they suck at!!!

Leafs will either need to be busy at the draft flipping these assets, or all-in on free agency, which is dicier than ever with the cap high and many teams just keeping their good players. For a successful "retool," in the 2026-27 Atlantic, they got some work to do.
