Donald Miller was declared legally dead after vanishing for 8 years. He came back, stood in front of a judge, and asked to be declared alive, the judge said no. In 1986, Donald Miller of Ohio disappeared to escape debt and alcoholism. In 1994, he was declared legally dead so his ex-wife could claim Social Security benefits for their children. When Miller "resurfaced" in 2005 and later appeared in court in 2013 to be declared alive, Judge Allan Davis refused. The judge ruled that under Ohio law, a death ruling cannot be overturned after more than three years. Legally, Miller remained "deceased," leaving him unable to get a driver's license or social security number.
In 2019, an 82-year-old grandma smashed a table over an intruder’s head and squirted shampoo in his eyes. She beat him so badly he left in an ambulance. In November 2019, an intruder broke into the Rochester, New York, home of Willie Murphy, an 82-year-old award-winning female bodybuilder. Despite the darkness and her age, Murphy, who could deadlift 225 pounds, defended herself with remarkable force. She first smashed a wooden table over the intruder, then used the table's metal legs to strike him while he was down. She finally blinded the man by pouring a bottle of shampoo into his eyes and hitting him with a broom until police arrived. The 28-year-old intruder had to be taken to the hospital by the very ambulance he had originally tried to trick Murphy into calling.
