Let me be clear: this SICKENS me. I spent YEARS writing letters to get my interpreters in America because they SAVED OUR LIVES. One of my interpreters was a 15 year old kid. One day, we were working with the Afghan police and he went stone quiet. After we left, I asked him what was wrong. BESSENT on extending Russian sanctions relief after promising not to do so: "I was approached by more than 10 of the most vulnerable and poorest countries in terms of energy and they asked us to extend that sanction [relief] and it's only for 30 days." Well, I suppose it’s worth noting that Russia is killing Ukrainians with that money. But if the poorest countries asked nicely, then I guess a few more Ukrainians can die for the cause, right? After all, it’s only 30 more days...🤦‍♀️
