The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (COP) is the preeminent global forum for climate change which shapes the global climate change narrative as well as economic and geopolitical affairs. Monash is deeply committed to urgent, collective action on climate change and COPs are a critical moment in this journey. We've been sending a delegation of our best and brightest to COP since becoming an Official Observer in 2016. In rural India, something remarkable is happening under the shade of banyan trees. Women from self-help groups (SHGs) gather to discuss pressing issues such as unpredictable rainfall, water scarcity, and crop failures. These groups aren’t just informal meetings; they represent grassroots innovation.
