We will do this one (announced) day per week - so work hard to get your students to school ON TIME EVERY DAY so they do not miss out on the prize! Thanks so much for your help!

Hello Monroe families! Each week during the month of March we will be handing out prizes to kids that are on time to school. Being on time is being in the school before the second bell rings at 7:40am.

Monroe 2nd grade students celebrated their learning last Friday by sharing their narratives and becoming cookie excavators!

Any student who does not miss more than 1 day of school from now until Feb. 17 will be able to attend! The kids love the lunch— so please help them get to school so they are able to enjoy the fun!

Monroe Families: we will have an attendance reward lunch on Wednesday, Feb. 18! Please help your student get to school on time every day from Jan. 26 - Feb. 17 so they can participate.

Monroe 3rd grade students had a great time celebrating the end of their module with 2nd grade students!

Monroe 2nd graders had the opportunity to read their "Schools Around the World" book they wrote to kindergarten students!

Monroe is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Iowa to offer after school programming at the Gregory and Suzie Burt Club on the Drake University Campus. Transportation will be provided. Registration opens on Monday, July 14th. bgcci.org

The Boys & Girls Club is having a family event on Thurs, July 31, from 4-6pm at Union Park (2009 Saylor Rd). There will be free food, carousel rides, games & prizes, & an opportunity to sign up for Boys & Girls Club. For more info, call 515-242-7925. Kids must be with an adult.

Due to these modifications, Monroe will continue to be a K-5 elementary school. Our 5th graders will not stay at Monroe for 6th grade as planned; they will go to Meredith Middle School. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will do my best to answer them.
