Today is Transgender Day of Visibility.
In housing, visibility is not symbolic. It impacts access, safety, and the ability to move through one of life’s biggest decisions without bias.
We see it in real time:
→ Clients navigating identity disclosure
→ Concerns about treatment at showings
→ Concerns around pre-approvals, financing, and rental applications
→ Questions about safety in buildings and neighbourhoods
This should not be part of the equation. Too often, it is.
Our role goes beyond transactions. It is about creating conditions where people are respected, protected, and able to make clear decisions.
That means:
→ Language that respects identity
→ Confidentiality as a baseline, not a bonus
→ Awareness of bias across the process
→ Speaking up when something is off
Housing is infrastructure for stability. If someone does not feel safe accessing it, the system is failing.
This work continues beyond today. At MovingSimcoe.com Team, it shows up in how we operate.
