@cw_janene @ennui365 In 1978 minimum wage jobs actually existed, and made up a good deal of available jobs. Today, virtually no jobs actually pay minimum wage. Most fast food wages start over double the Federal min wage. Hell, even some gas stations start at $18.

@ennui365 I have a better idea: Stop pretending anyone actually makes minimum wage. Even McDonalds in my rural town pays ~$15. The gas station Buc-Ee’s starts at $18. If you don’t qualify to stock shelves, clean bathrooms, flip burgers, or work a fryer, that’s your own fault.
