RV Oceanus is back out to sea after coming in to San Francisco for repairs and shelter from some big waves. Five @saildrone's were out measuring through the storm, and they recorded 11m waves! (Plot: @wavesjam ; photo: @saildrone )

We're back out to sea on the Oceanus after repairs. First item on the to-do list: deploy four wavegliders. These autonomous instruments are packed full of sensors to better understand waves, eddies and jets in the upper ocean and how they interact w/ the atmosphere. @NASA_SMODE

Yes, not having to ride 9m waves in a 170 foot boat is definitely a silver lining of coming in for repairs!

@HRPrendeville @NASA_SMODE We have a bad oil leak in the propulsion system. :(. But the silver lining is that we don’t have to ride out the upcoming storm at sea.

The RBR Concerto, adapted into the EcoCTD for towed underway profiling, is going to be a key measurement for the campaign, measuring ocean temperature, salinity, chlorophyll, and oxygen across small-scale ocean fronts
