2) to be clear, I am certain CDC will approve the new XBB booster shot for everyone high risk and elderly. The question is if they “recommend” it for younger age groups. But even the fact that they are debating this, without likely considering LC and school attendance in CB equation, is head smacking to me.

🍨SCOOP: Sources inside the CDC are saying that the CDC is starting a last minute new “COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS” on COVID vaccination. Because shots aren’t pre-paid free anymore, some are arguing it should be dolled out/recommended on “cost benefit” basis to hospital system. (Read: Long COVID supposedly not in the equation 🤦🏻‍♂️). There is also internal debate trying to decide the cost benefit for kids too (but school attendance not in equation either 🤦🏻‍♂️). Moral ethics aside—CDC apparently started it late, just a week ago, and now rushing to finish it in the next week or so to present before ACIP meeting. Normally this should take months (way more than 2 weeks), but CDC didn’t get its act together to do this until last week. 🤷🏻‍♂️ (You heard it here first. Don’t shoot the messenger.)
